Your data, and what we do with it
Last updated 28 October 2026
Otzaar builds each client a personal store: looks for the dates in your life, chosen by a stylist with the help of software. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to switch it off.
What you tell us
Your answers to our onboarding (name, email, city or postcode, sizes, colours, the brands you like, your dates and budget), any photos you choose to upload, and anything you write to us from your store. We use it to build and update your store.
If you connect Google
Connecting is optional. You approve it on Google’s own page, we never see your password, and access is read-only.
- Google Calendar (read-only events). We read the title, date, time and place of your events for the next four months, so each date can have a look and we can check the weather. We do not read descriptions, guest lists or meeting links.
If you forward receipts
You can forward order confirmations to your Otzaar closet address. We never connect to your inbox. We read only what you forward, note the clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery in it, and do not keep the email.
Otzaar’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to build your store. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train general AI models, and no person reads it unless you ask us to or the law requires it.
Who helps us
We use a small number of service providers, under contract, only to run Otzaar: Netlify (hosting and storage), Anthropic (the AI that helps read forwarded receipts and draft your store; under its commercial terms it does not train on this data), Resend (email), SerpApi (product search), and OpenAI (the mannequin images in your store window, made from product photos, never from photos of you; under its API terms it does not train on this data). Shop links take you to the retailer, whose own privacy policy then applies.
How long we keep it
While your store is open. Calendar events are refreshed each night and replaced, not accumulated. If you disconnect Google, we revoke our access and delete the calendar events and receipt items we read. If you close your store, we delete your answers, photos and store within 30 days.
Your choices
- Disconnect at any time from the settings in your store, or from your Google Account under Security, Third-party connections.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it: write to hello@otzaar.com.
Security
Google access tokens are encrypted before they are stored. Your store sits at a private link that is not listed or indexed. Photos of you are never shown on public pages.
